TEXT: Matthew 5:43-45
Warren Wiersbe said, "Since Christian love is an act of the will, and not simply an emotion, Jesus has the right to command us to love our enemies. After all, He loved us when we were His enemies."
Talking about loving our enemies is one thing; actually doing it is the hard part. Jesus does not leave the command to love our enemies in the abstract. In this passage, He tells us how we can and should be obedient to this command. You will probably never feel like you love your enemies, but Jesus does not tell us to feel anything; He tells us only to act. He gives us three specific ways we can love our enemies by our actions.
