TEXT: Judges 3:14-22
Ehud, a God-appointed deliverer of the children of Israel, paid a visit to their oppressor, Eglon, king of Moab, under the pretense of presenting him with a gift. As we read yesterday, the Bible notes that the king was "a very fat man." We also learned that Ehud, a left-handed man, had crafted a dagger, about a cubit (approximately eighteen inches) long, and concealed it on his right side. Because most people are right-handed and would have concealed a weapon on their left side, the guards of King Eglon missed Ehud's concealed weapon.
