TEXT: Ephesians 6:18-20
This passage is familiar to many of us because of its description of the armor of God that we ought to put on amidst the spiritual warfare that we face. In summary, there are six pieces of armor that God has supplied for us: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God). All of these pieces of armor describe elements of the Christian faith that we apply to our lives. But, there is something else that we are provided with as well -- a command to act. But though we are in warfare, we are not commanded to fight, but to pray.
