TEXT: Romans 8:18-28
From this passage, we have been focusing on verse 26 as it describes the essential work of the Holy Spirit as our partner in prayer. However, as we have gone through the ways in which the Holy Spirit helps us to pray, we see that Paul's description of the Holy Spirit's work is connected to some of the larger themes that he has been dealing with in this passage. And we will begin looking at those themes today. We left off talking about the ways in which the Holy Spirit "maketh intercession for us" -- that is, through supplication, conversation, and consultation with the Heavenly Father. Paul goes on to say, "The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
